FREDERICK L. KOHLER (1918 - 1942)

The Internet really does make this World a much smaller place. It's a wonder! Please read on...

Hello Tom,

I wanted to tell you that one of the other victims' military rank is incorrect on the website for "the Accident". Frederick L. Kohler was not a Lt. Colonel when he died, but was a 1st Lt. He was born on 2/12/1918 and no one of that age could possibly be a Lt. Col in 1942. To verify this, go to the Dept of Vet's affaris website at http://www.cem.va.gov/ and look under the "find a grave" option and you will find he is buried at the Golden Gate National Cemetery. It verifies his rank & DOB. I suspect he was Lt. Col George's aide but do not know that for sure.
