According to "Santo Tomas" by Frederic H. Stevens, Elwood was first at Santo Tomas then Los Banos until liberation.

March 22, 2007

My uncle Elwood Garrett was a POW at Santo Tomas. He was freed and came back to San Francisco. He was an excellent carver, but did not say much about his time spent there.

The problem is, my uncle Elwood, his wife and only son have all passed away. My aunt re-married years after his death and her new husband has died also. No pictures and very little information, except what he told us when he was sent back to the states.

Sorry I do not have more information. Just took a gamble that I might see his name somewhere on a roster of the POWs from Santo Tomas.
