ASHIO (POW CAMP 8-D) JAPAN
(194? - 1945)

Ashio was a coppermine opened in Japan in the 1600's. Chinese Prisoners were the first POW's to arrive at the camp in 1940. I believe Korean were then used in 1942. The first allied POW's started arriving around 1944 (as far as I know).
