Hi Tom,

Thank you for taking the time to add me to your list. My great grandfather James Williamson (originally of North Carolina) died at Santo Thomas, my grandfather Henry Williamson was a US Naval officer (Mestizo American/Filipino), he, my father and uncles fled to the mountains to hide from the Japanese, my grandmother, aunts and other extended family (whom were Filipino) remained in the families home, which was located directly across from Santo Thomas.

I can provide further information, as I am piecing it together from my father and aunt.

Thanks again!

Hello Tom,

I saw the Santo Tomas Internment Camp site and it had my great grand fathers name on the list of internment, James Gunn Williamson. Would you happen to have any information about him by any chance? I am doing some research regarding the family. He was married to Dolores Rojales and had 6 children. His only living offspring is my grandmother Lucy Williamson Pepa. I've attached a picture that my dad has given me of my great grandfather.

I'm looking at American Foreign Service, report of death of an American citizen and it states that date of death was January 27, 1951 and age was 72 years 9 mos 8 days (ascertained), in the Philippines, so I'd imagine him to be born around April 19, 1878 (if my calculations are right). Last known address was in Yanceville, North Carolina and he was a Spanish War Pensioner: retired US civil service employee. I take it he was in the military for the Spanish American War that happened in the Philippines and married my great grand mother afterward.

This is the latest genealogy information that I have. Lucy's sibling were Henry G.W., Lydia W. Costa, Mary W. Schalk, Elma W. Galeon, and James H. W.. James Gunn Williamson was born in Yanceyville, Caswell County, North Carlolina in 1878 and his father was Dr. Bob Williamson. Bob had a sister named Hattie. Their fathers name was George Williamson and one of his siblings name was Hugh Williamson. Their parents name were John Williamson and Mary Davison. I believe that Henry married Aida.

I'm still trying to gather more information and can keep you posted if anything new comes up from research.

Thank you,

Gus Pepa
