March 11, 2006 My name is Edward J. Powers. I was one of the American civilian pilots who was delivering PBY's to Manila right before the war started. I was at Cavite Navy Yard when Pearl Harbor was bombed and was then interned at Santa Tomas until the camp was liberated. I met one of the Army Nurses, Alice Hahn, in camp and we were married there the day it was liberated. I have given a number of interviews, the latest to the McArthur Library in Norfolk Va. I am 88 years old and live near Phila., Pa. If you want any further info on my years in the camp, let me know.
