EDWARD J. POWERS
March 11, 2006
My name is Edward J. Powers. I was one of the American civilian pilots who was delivering PBY's to Manila right before the war started. I was at Cavite Navy Yard when Pearl Harbor was bombed and was then interned at Santa Tomas until the camp was liberated. I met one of the Army Nurses, Alice Hahn, in camp and we were married there the day it was liberated. I have given a number of interviews, the latest to the McArthur Library in Norfolk Va. I am 88 years old and live near Phila., Pa.
If you want any further info on my years in the camp, let me know.
or would like to be added to my POW/Internee e-mail distribution list,
please let me, Tom Moore, know.
