May 11, 2004 My grandmother, Ruth Hudson Mladinich, was interned until the camp was liberated in 1945. She wrote a manuscript "In The Rays of the Rising Sun" that detailed her experience. She died in 1991 at the age of 97 and shared many stories with us. Of interest, her husband Hugo was in Hong Kong on a business trip when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. He was interned at Stanley Prison Camp and repatriated 6 monthes later on the mercy ship Gripsholm. Thank you for adding my grandmother's name to your list.
