Hi Tom,

I write to you in the spur of the momment, after having seen your website dedicated to the camp.

My Grandparents, my uncle and my mother where interns there, Joseph, Juanita, Joe and Lucy Da Silva. My grandfather's name was included in the "heroes of the camp" list in a book published about the camp. Too weak, he was mistakenly accounted as dead, but all of them survived. I don't know if my mother still has a copy of the book or if she knows where it is. She entered the camp aged 3 and was found by American GIs in the battle of Manila. I don't know the details but if I can gather any info I will send it to you should you want me to (Yes, please do send). I know, years later, my family met with the GI who found my mother hiding with whom she spent the remaining of the day and night of the battle.

Thanks for keeping the camps memories alive.

Sincerely,
Fernand Sobron Da Silva
