Dear Tom,

I am John Byde, from the family you have listed as being in Santo Tomas during the war. I was amazed to see our family.

As of now there are only my sister, Ann and myself, however we have multiple children and grand children. I am retired and live in Cambria, California and my sister Ann is in Wisconsin. Dad died at 66 but Mom lived on until 87. I guess that's the British in her.

My Mother left a diary of the camp that I have been tempted to make into a book. This was a letter to her mother in Australia made during the internment. It wouldn't be a very big book but it is interesting. She was quite a good writer.

If you have any information or would like to add this please let me know. Also include me on your e-mail list.

Thank you,

John D. Byde
