January 29, 2006 Hi, My name is Cathie and my uncle was a captive at Los Banos. His name was Father Joseph Bittner SJ. He was a Jesuit priest and spent most of his life in the Philippines. He died may 1998 in the Philippines at the age of 92. He never forgot the camp and the Japanese. I never realized what a daring and dangerous mission it was to free these people.
