Ivan was killed in an S-38 crash at Ning Po, April 10, 1934.

November 3, 2022 --I received the following from a distant relative of Ivan's.

Ivan's dad Mack (Macawer) is my great grandfather Isaac Carlson's older brother.

Mack and Isaac had a freight business between Los Angeles and Riverside about 1900. One of their stops was the Sycamore Inn on Foothill. One would stay in the wagon going while the other slept in a hotel bed. Then on the reverse trip they would switch.

After they saved up enough money, they bought a hardware store in Riverside near Magnolia and Van Buren.

Ivan died when my grandmother was a teenager. My mom talks about sitting on his sister's lap as a child when they visited the Long Beach apartments. The sister was "cushy and cuddly."

My mom Barbara Brown Harstad turns 80 Nov 20. I turn 60 Nov 29.

Attached is a screenshot of the little I know about Ivan.

Ivan's mom is Cornilla Brown Carpenter. No relation to my mom's paternal Brown family.

This photo was taken in 1915, when Ivan was about 5. He's standing next to his mother. His Grandmother is sitted. She had arrived in New York from Sweden in 1865.

It was the Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary.

Mack is standing behind his mom.
